St. John of God Ballarat Hospital Master Plan

Studio STH was commissioned in May 2013 by St John of God Ballarat Hospital (SJGBH) to provide Principal Consultancy Services for the strategic Masterplan for the Ballarat Hospital campus.

The Masterplan endeavours to deliver the objectives of SJGHB’s Strategic Health Service Plan 2012-2022. A number of Feasibility Studies were identified as priority projects from the Masterplan study including:

Development of one additional Operating Theatre and Support Spaces such as
Preparation and Storage Areas on Level 3 Medical Services Building;
Reprovision of Staff Amenities, including Staff Lounge and Change Facilities;
Redevelopment and expansion the Existing Special Care Nursery; and
Electrical infrastructure upgrade with emphasis on Sub-Station and Generators.

The key objectives identified from the study was to deliver each of the parcels as individual projects within a strict, set budget and to deliver the facilities with minimal disruption to the existing hospital operational activities and accommodation.
