Sustainability
It is an objective of Silver Thomas Hanley on all health facility projects that the environmental design aspects are maximised, both in the building/s and their environments in order to cater for differing groups (patients, staff and visitors), ages and functions and to promote a healthy, culturally sensitive and safe workplace.
STH designed the recently commissioned Abbotsford Hospital, Canada to Gold LEEDTM (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification, as administered by United States Green Building Council and all recent projects in Australia to the “Green Star” standard.
The Abbotsford Hospital is the first hospital in Canada to be awarded Gold Certification.
Arising from our involvement in major health facility buildings, we have established the discipline of focusing on maintenance and an ability to replace or upgrade building services on all projects, regardless of size.
