Monash Medical Centre Clayton, Birthing Suite & Pregnancy Assessment Unit, Victoria

The pregnancy assessment unit (PAU) provides an integrated and streamlined ambulatory care facility for women with complications during any stage of their pregnancy. Specifically, it will provide a multi-functional ambulatory care, emergency triage and day-stay care unit.

 The redevelopment of the existing maternity services on Level 5 co-locates the birthing suite with the new pregnancy assessment unit and incorporates a 10 bed birthing unit, 6 chair CTG monitoring, 2 Chair Day Treatment and 4 Consulting rooms, including 3 sized for Ultrasound imaging.

• Provides a separate entry and access points for presentations to the unit and emergency access to theatres.
