The pregnancy assessment unit (PAU) provides an integrated and streamlined ambulatory care facility for women with complications during any stage of their pregnancy. Specifically, it will provide a multi-functional ambulatory care, emergency triage and day-stay care unit.

 The redevelopment of the existing maternity services on Level 5 co-locates the birthing suite with the new pregnancy assessment unit and incorporates a 10 bed birthing unit, 6 chair CTG monitoring, 2 Chair Day Treatment and 4 Consulting rooms, including 3 sized for Ultrasound imaging.
