Royal Hobart Hospital Integrated Cancer Centre, Hobart, TAS

As part of the Royal Hobart Hospital redevelopment, Silver Thomas Hanley in collaboration with BPSM as principal consultants, were responsible for the design and documentation of this Regional Integrated Cancer Centre. This project is considered phase one of a program derived under the Regional Cancer Centres (RCC) initiative for Australia and includes the major refurbishment of several existing floors including ground, 1st, 7th and 8th floors of A block.

The existing A Block on the campus is to be redeveloped into a complete cancer precinct with radiation therapy, day oncology, a day clinic, rehabilitation ward, an inpatient unit and office facilities. The proposed funds of $34 million TEC are allocated for Stage one of the Cancer Centre.  Construction of the new linear accelerator Bunker and external facade at the Campbell Street side of A Block recently completed.
