QEII Building - Joint Replacement and Rheumatology Unit Sydney, New South Wales

This building forms part of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital campus in Sydney, and was previously an outpatient and allied health facility. The brief was to refurbish and expand the building to accommodate 60 inpatient beds, orthopaedic theatres and new consulting clinics. Using the forms of the existing brick banded building as a reference, the new extension of zinc, rendered concrete and circular stairwells sits at the rear of the site and connects at 3 of the 4 levels. Project completed in 2001.
