In 2005 the existing Gosford Hospital, which is located approximately 75km north of Sydney planned the refurbishment of an existing Outpatient wing into a new breast screening facility for BreastScreen NSW. This new facility included one Ultrasound Room and two Mammography Rooms and also included a Counselling Room. The project was completed and opened in October 2006. Japanese Kimonos were donated by Silver Thomas Hanley and these are suspended as art work throughout the unit. The end result is an inviting and calming space on a very tight budget.
