The redevelopment of the Ballarat campus marks a major milestone for the St John of God Healthcare Network. The project involved the construction of new ward building and decommissiong of the eixsting wards, together with ancillary works to existing structures. Beginning in early 2006, the $62M faciltity was recently completed and was officially opened on November 12th 2009.

The redevelopment of the Ballarat campus marks a major milestone for the St John of God Healthcare Network. The project involved the construction of new ward building and decommissiong of the eixsting wards, together with ancillary works to existing structures. Began in early 2006, the $62M fac iltity has recently completed and was officially opened on November 12th 2009. The redevelopment consisted of the following key components:

Construction of new Ward Block incorporating:
-           Department of Emergency Medicine
-           Pharmacy
-           Hydrotherapy
-           Public Amenities including Café and  Gift Shop
-           Level 1 – 2 x 30 bed Medical Oncology and Rehabilitation IPU’s
-           Level 1 – 2 x Chemotherapy chairs
-           Level 2 – 2 x 30 bed Orthopaedic and Surgical IPU’s
-           Level 3 – 25 bed IPU comprising 15 Short Stay beds, 10 Obstetric beds
            (including 3 configured as LDRP’s), and a 3 Cot Level 2 Nursery
-           15 place Day Procedures facility  
Redevelopment of existing facilities incorporating:
-          Catheter Suite within the existing Operating Suite
-          Redevelopment of the existing Operating Rooms
-          New 3 Bed Sleep Clinic
