WIN South West Regional Cancer Centre

Silver Thomas Hanley congratulates Epworth HealthCare on their appointment by Premier Denis Napthine as the winning tenderer to deliver the new South West Regional Cancer Centre in Warrnambool, Victoria.

The official announcement was made at the project site by Premier Napthine on Friday November 14th who was joined by Epworth HealthCare’s Damian Armour and John Krygger, John Maher from South West HealthCare and Vicki Jellie, Founder of local community group Peter’s Project.

Epworth HealthCare will build and operate the $30 million facility, which will provide a broad range of facilities in a contemporary and welcoming environment including oncology and radiotherapy services, clinical consulting suites, pharmacy, administration areas and Peter’s Project Supportive Care Centre.

Funding for the project has come from both the state and federal governments, supplying $15 million and $10 million respectively, with an additional $5 million contributed by community group Peter’s Project. Construction is scheduled to commence early in 2015 with completion expected by the end of 2016.
